ZOLL emsCharts Web 14.09

September 17, 2025

emsCharts Web was tested using the latest versions of the following browsers:

  • Chrome

  • Safari

  • Edge

  • Firefox

Important! Use of the [ LEGACY UI ] was removed for charting purposes in version 14.05 of emsCharts Web, but can still be used for some Code Tables and configurations. All new features, enhancements, and bug fixes apply to the [ ZOLL UI ]. Any exceptions will be explicitly noted.

Data Validations: standardized rulesets

To support improved data quality and scoring across all states, a standardized set of Data Validation Rules and Actions are now available to all emsCharts customers. While they are included by default, they will appear as hidden in your system to allow flexibility and control. No action is required unless you wish to review or enable these rules within your system. Each rule is labeled with a standardized prefix for consistency (C01-C43). You can view and manage the rules under ConfigurationCommand Fac. > Code Tables > 'Data Validation Rules' and 'Data Validation Actions'.

Username

We updated the required username format for newly created users to be an email address. When a new user is created in emsCharts, the username must be a unique email address and will automatically populate the email address field in the user creation window, but the email address field can still be edited independently.

Importing attachments from CAD

We updated the ability to import documents sent from RescueNet Dispatch CAD into emsCharts PCRs as attachments. Services can enable the import document from CAD feature from the CAD Import Data Options configuration. Imported attachments can be configured to have a default Attachment Category, or it can be required to be manually selected by the end-user when the attachment is imported. When creating a new chart or importing a CAD record into an existing chart and viewing a CAD record to be imported, each document will be displayed on the CAD Import screen so users are aware of each one. Once imported, each document will be available in the Attachments section of the PCR.

emsCharts access in ZOLL Online

If a user is added to an emsCharts agency that has been linked to a Tenant in ZOLL Online, the user will be added to the applicable Tenant(s) and provisioned with access to the emsCharts product tile in ZOLL Online.

Create (copy) user tool

We added a new tool to the User Management Code Table that allows administrators to create new user accounts for users that meet the following criteria:

  • The user is listed on the agency's User Roster

  • The user is listed on the User Roster of an agency that is not part of the original agency's "Services that your user roster is able to be shared with" list

Users identified as meeting the above criteria will have a new account created as a copy of their original user account, and the new account will automatically be added to the User Roster of their agency (the agency using the tool), as well as the other agencies in their "Services that your user roster is able to be shard with" list that the user is part of.

ECG Import

To streamline the import process, when importing data from a ZOLL X-Series monitor, blank vital sign rows that contain no clinical data will automatically be filtered out. Only vital sign entries that include at least one clinical value will be shown in the import preview, saved to the database, and recorded in the Activity Log.

The following issues were fixed in this release:

  • Connecticut NEMSIS export: Agency name was not included in the Connecticut export. The agency name configured on the Service's Export tab will now be included in the Connecticut NEMSIS exports.

  • NEMSIS v2 errors: NEMSIS v2 files were failing validation when free-text values were documented for Medication Allergies or Environmental Allergies.

Note: This fix was deployed on Monday, August 25th.

  • MCD Code population: MCD Codes were not always populating properly on Page 1. This fix ensures that if a Common Address or Hospital in the system has an MCD Code saved, that value is used when the location or facility is documented on Page 1. Additionally, we updated the system to guarantee the configuration option "Force Blank MCD CODE" is respected. This change ensures that when a pre-configured value for MCD Code exists, it is used, and when an MCD Code doesn't exist, one is only calculated and auto-populated if "Force Blank MCD CODE" is set to 'No'.

  • Other EMS On Scene: Information documented in the Page 2 'Other EMS on Scene' field was not displaying when the chart was at a QA level configured with "User Can Modify" set to 'No'. Now, information documented in this field is visible to users reviewing the chart at any QA level, regardless of the "User Can Modify" configuration.

  • Referring Address, County: Unexpected behavior of Page 1 Referring Address 'County' field. This field has been updated to display as a read-only field. Values in this field can be populated using the lookup function, by selecting a pre-defined address, or by importing a value from CAD.
